COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus firefighters were called to 5656 Quebec Drive in Columbus around 2:30 Wednesday morning.

When they arrived the home was fully engulfed -- with flames coming out of the roof.

Fire investigators remained on the scene for about four hours searching through the rubble looking for clues.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. Firefighters told News Leader 9, the family was out of town.

They made the dreadful phone call to the homeowners notifying them that their home had been destroyed.

All of the their belongings were destroyed in the fire.  The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

Meanwhile, friends and family have set up a fund to help the family at CB&T. If you would like to donate, just stop by any branch and ask for the "Quebec Drive Fire Fund."
