COLUMBUS, GA - Looking for a new start in 2011? With the theme "From Makeovers to Transformations," the organizers of the 8th Annual Mind, Body & Spirit event are seeking candidates for makeovers – one each for a Mind makeover, Body makeover and Spirit makeover.
The deadline for application is Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010; selection will be announced on Wednesday, Jan. 5; and the event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011.
Candidates for the Mind makeover will likely need help with organizational skills, financial management, time management and/or goal setting.
Candidates for the Body makeover will likely need help with nutrition, exercise, makeup, hairstyling, clothing and/or skin care.
While candidates for the Spirit makeover will likely be looking for help with reducing stress in their lives through a variety of avenues.
Organizers for the Mind, Body & Spirit Retreat for Women have enlisted the help of several area professionals to help coach each person selected for a makeover, and each makeover will be featured at the event scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Cunningham Center for Leadership Development at Columbus State University. They will be working with the selected participants throughout the month of January to help them achieve their transformations.
In order to be a Mind Body Spirit Makeover participant, the candidates must be willing to:
- Complete the application
- Submit a recent photograph
- Write a 250 word (or less) essay
- Sign a consent and release form agreeing to be interviewed and photographed during the process.
- Commit at least 4-6 hours during the month of January to meet with and practice what the coaches are teaching them.
- Work with coaches and guides to prepare and participate in the Mind, Body & Spirit conference presentation.
