QUITMAN COUNTY, GA (WTVM) –  A Quitman County woman and her three children are the latest victims of fire  – losing everything in their possession.

Quitman County Sheriff Steve Newton says the fire broke out on Deer Point Road around 9:00 p.m. Thursday night.

One of the children woke up coughing from the smoke.

Investigators say everyone got out of the  mobile home safely. Sheriff Deputies believe a space heater started the fire.

The children's ages are  7, 3, and 1 years old.  The youngest has diabetes.

Meanwhile, the family will stay with relatives.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time and is under investigation by the Quitman Co. Fire Department and the Quitman Co. Sheriff's Office.

Reverend Bryce Mitchell from the First Baptist Church in Georgetown is collecting donations for the family. To donate call 334-695-1935.
