World's busiest airport seems empty

ATLANTA (AP) - Hundreds of flight cancellations made the world's

busiest airport seem empty.

Delta Air Lines canceled 300 of the 800 Christmas Day flights

set to depart from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

on Friday - long before the first snow flake here landed.

That meant most passengers didn't bother to show up. Many chairs

were empty Saturday, and restaurants were even emptier.

Some couldn't help but chuckle. Stephanie Palmer, who was

waiting at the airport with a friend, said "they canceled hundreds

of flights and there hasn't even been a drop of rain. This doesn't

make sense."
