The valley has experienced an unusual sight this Christmas.
For the first time observers can recall, Columbus, Georgia got snow on Dec. 25. Roadways all remain open in our area, but there could be sporadic travel problems by Sunday morning if the roads are not able to dry out before subfreezing temperatures hit.
Atlanta has seen about an inch of snow so far and the mountains of northeast Georgia have seen widespread 4 to 6 inches covering the ground. Huntsville, Alabama received up to around 4 inches of wet snow during the day.
