Mother, 2 kids injured following collision with train

AUBURN, AL  (WTVM) –  Three people were taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after their vehicle left the road and struck a train near Webster Road in Auburn, AL.

Police tell us a Dodge Neon driven by 21-year-old Cornelia Andrews was traveling on Alabama Highway 14 when it left the road and collided with a train traveling west around 4:30 p.m.

The driver and her two children, 6 and 1, were transport to East Alabama Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. They have since been released from the hospital.

A portion of Alabama Highway 14 was closed to the traveling public for about 30 minutes following the crash.

The accident remains under investigation and no charges are expected to be filed.
