Bama finishes strong, now waits on NFL decisions

Alabama's dominant bowl performance demonstrated both what might have been and what could be.

The Crimson Tide routed Michigan State 49-7 in the Capital One Bowl on Saturday. Juniors Julio Jones, Mark Ingram and Marcell Dareus all made big plays.

All three are regarded as likely NFL first-round draft picks if they skip their senior seasons. Coach Nick Saban said on his postgame radio show that Alabama will have a great if they come back.

Saban called the Tide's season finale "a first-class performance from start to finish."

Alabama finished with 10 wins after opening as the favorites to repeat as national champions.

The Tide must replace quarterback Greg McElroy and left tackle James Carpenter but most of the stars at least have the option to return.
