Troup Co. Sheriff: Roadways are very slick

TROUP COUNTY, GA - Lines on county roads are barely visible & conditions are not expected to improve thru the day. Please stay home.

Troup County Engineer James Emery stated that, after checking the various county roads and main thoroughfares, areas of dense sleet have been found in spots that would normally be in "Shady" locations on those roads in the daylight hours.

These areas of sleet may be completely undetectible to our citizens who take to the county roads this morning. "They are very slick and very dangerous" says Emery.

These same patches can be found on almost all secondary roads throughout the county, as well. Emery, further, stated that "The lines on most of our county roads are barely visible, at this time."

Conditions are not expected to improve as the day progresses. Therefore, Sheriff Donny Turner and ALL county officials plea with Troup County citizens to stay at home and do not dirve unless absolutely necessary.
