Auburn Businesses See Boost

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A staple in the Auburn community for more than 30 years, the Barbeque House is always a hot spot.

But during a good football season, "That's just magnified, you know, the more wins you have, the more excited people get and the more special things they want to have and they're interested in it," says owner Jeff Price.

It's certainly been that way for local businesses this year after an undefeated 2010 season, Heisman Trophy winner and bid to the national championship game.

At the art store, she says there have been lots of requests for Cam art, plus items featuring Bo Jackson.

"This has been great for us in terms of sales, especially when the economy's bad, we've been blessed."

A boost in business, both Brown and Price hope continues.

"We hope the town's just buzzing on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and we hope that just we win and it carries on," says Price.
