Two arrested at the TAP for drugs, police witness sale

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - According to reports, two Columbus police officers noticed a drug transaction take place right in front of them.  It happened around 2 a.m. Sunday morning  inside the men's restroom at the TAP bar located at 1020 Broadway in Uptown.

Steven Hack , 40, allegedly handed a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance to Daniel Thompson, 25. Hack then reportedly placed an unknown amount of money into his pocket, the report stated.

Police stated, Thompson realized the officers saw he and Hack and then placed the baggie inside his right front pocket.  Both were arrested immediately.

Police confiscated approximately 1 gram of cocaine with an estimated street value of $100.00, a black straw and $200 in cash from Hack. He was charged with the sale of cocaine.

Police also said, they found .8 grams of cocaine worth $80.00 in street value on Thompson.  Thompson told police he purchased the "coke" for $12.00; Hack did not respond to Thompson's statement. Thompson was charged with possession of cocaine.
