COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Need help with your taxes, how about getting them prepared for free? The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, or VITA, does just that in Columbus. The free tax preparation service is for households that made $49,000 or less in 2010.
VITA has four sites across Columbus, including one on Macon Road that's open year round.
"Between those four sites, we have hours Monday through Saturday, all day long and even into the evenings, so there is a good mix of availability for people wanting to get their taxes done free," explains Goodwill Financial Services Manager Kari Finley.
