East Alabama teen arrested for shooting school bus with BB gun

LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - Lee County authorities tell News Leader 9 a teen has been arrested for allegedly shooting into a school bus with a BB gun.

We are told it happened Monday around 3:30 p.m.

A Sandford Middle School bus loaded with 20 children was traveling on Lee Road 445 in Opelika.

That's when a suspicious sound was heard and one of the windows in the bus was damaged.

Due to the broken glass, an 11-year-old  girl, suffered minor cuts to her face and one of her hands.

A boy, 13, has been charged with one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

The teen is being held in Lee County Youth Development Center. His case will be heard by the Lee County Juvenile Court.
