Love triangle leads to shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus man is behind bars after shooting his ex-wife's lover.

A Columbus man is recovering from injuries he received after being shot in the side and in his jaw. Columbus police said the shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. on January 29th

Police said an altercation occurred between the victim and 59 year old Rodney Medley, at Medley's old home on Standing Boy Road in Columbus.  Police said Medley allegedly shot the victim because he was having relations with Medley's ex-wife. 

After being shot outside the home, the victim then drove to River Road and flagged down a Columbus patrol officer indicating that he was injured. 

Police arrived back at the house and arrested Medley.  He is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.  Rodney Medley will appear in Recorder's Court on Monday.

The victim is listed in stable condition at the Columbus Medical Center.
