COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Rodney Medley, 59, pleaded not guilty and waived his rights to a preliminary hearing in Recorders Court Monday morning.

Police say Medley shot his ex-wife's lover Saturday morning at a home on Standing Boy Road in Green Island Hills.

In court Monday, a judge issued the following bonds:

$15,000 - Aggravated Assault
$5,000 - Possession of Firearm During Commission of a Crime

Medley allegedly shot the 50-year-old man around 2:30 a.m. after seeing him with his ex-wife.

Police say Medley waited outside for the man to leave, then shot him as soon as he stepped out.

The victim drove himself, then flagged down a police officer on River Road. When police arrived at the Green Island home, Medley was still there.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the left side of his chest and one to the face. He is in critical condition at Columbus Regional.
