Erique Florence, Valley, AL, heading to Auburn

Valley High School safety Erique Florence is headed to Auburn while Russellville linebacker/running back Brent Calloway is Alabama-bound.

Florence announced his decision on ESPNU to kick off nationalsigning day Wednesday morning, choosing the Tigers over Southern California. He is rated the No. 4 safety and 52nd-best player overall by ESPN.

Florence says with Auburn, "It's a family thing." Cornerback Jermaine Whitehead also chose the Tigers. Calloway had switched his commitment from Alabama to Auburn but switched back. He's rated the state's top prospect by Rivals.com.

Meanwhile, defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan chose Alabama over Georgia. Rivals.com rates him the nation's No. 4 end and 42nd overall.

The faxed national letters of intent started rolling in early this morning at Auburn and Alabama. Both schools have a shot atbeing ranked in the Top 5 nationally.
