Georgia Tech signs 'balanced' class of 22

ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Tech went out of state for 12 of its 22 signees and added what coach Paul Johnson says is a "very balanced, talented class."

Georgia Tech signed eight linebackers, four offensive linemen and three running backs. The Yellow Jackets return only starting offensive linemen from its 2010 team which finished 6-7.

Johnson and his staff signed three players from North Carolina: quarterback Vad Lee, linebacker Tremayne McNair and defensive back Domonique Noble.

Georgia Tech also signed two players from Alabama while also adding signess from Illinois, New Jersey and Tennessee.

Quarterback Jamal Golden is from Wetumpka, Ala., also the home of junior quarterback Tevin Washington.
