EUFAULA, AL (WTVM) -  Instead of rendering care to patients, 2 emergency management technicians found themselves receiving medical care after their ambulance was involved in a one vehicle accident.

It happened on Highway 82, about 7 miles west of Eufaula just after midnight Friday.

Alabama State Troopers tell News Leader 9, the vehicle hydroplaned, left the road, hit a tree and then flipped before landing on its side.

The driver and passenger, both workers for a private ambulance company in Tifton, Georgia were en route home from Tuscaloosa, Alabama after transporting a patient.

Authorities said they suffered minor injuries and are being treated at Medical Center Barbour formerly Lakeview Community Hospital in Eufaula.

Troopers have not determined the cause of the accident, but said weather conditions may have been a factor.
