OPELIKA, AL  (WTVM)  - Opelika police say a LaFayette, AL resident sustained life-threatening injuries in an early morning accident on I-85 near Exit 62.

Police say it appears the driver of the 2008 Honda Accord left the interstate around 4:00 a.m. and crashed into several trees.

The driver and front seat passenger sustained minor injuries.

However, the backseat passenger was ejected from the back window of the car.

All three were brought to the emergency room in a private vehicle.

Opelika investigators cannot say if alcohol or weather was a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
