Police search for suspect who fled after high speed chase

OPELIKA, Ala  (WTVM) –  Chambers County deputies are looking for an East Alabama man who led them on a dangerous chase that reached speeds in excess of 100 mph.

Investigators said it all started with a reported kidnapping in Opelika. A woman told someone inside the JK Food Mart on Highway 431, her ex-boyfriend, 30 year old Adriane Billingsley, was holding her against her will.

She left the store and got into the yellow Dodge Charger, Billingsley was driving.

When deputies tried to stop him on Highway 431, he led them on a 10 minute chase that ended with him crashing on County Road 32 and bailing out.

Deputies still have not located him.

Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend suffered two broken legs in the crash.

Chambers County investigators said Billingsley faces felony, attempting to allude and assault charges since the female was injured in the accident.

Kidnapping charges have not been filed in Opelika.
