FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - The father of an injured boy who was discovered in a toxic truck with his twin sister's deteriorated body is scheduled to have his first court appearance on Thursday.
Jorge Barahona faces aggravated child abuse charges and authorities say more charges are expected. He remained hospitalized Wednesday.
Barahona's 10-year-old son was listed in critical condition on Wednesday, with his burns getting worse and doctors unsure what chemical was used.
The father and his son were found Monday along on the side of Interstate 95.
Authorities haven't said how his daughter, Nubia, was killed or when they think the chemical was put on his son, Victor.
On Wednesday afternoon, police shut down a stretch of Interstate 95 because they found a potentially dangerous chemical near where the truck was found. They wouldn't say what kind of chemical it was.
