Albany Marine accused in wife's murder

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An overnight domestic dispute turned deadly in South Albany. An active duty Marine is in the Dougherty County Jail charged with murdering his wife.

Twenty-five-year old Sergeant James Eppler arrested outside his West Gordon Avenue home early Sunday morning.

Officials say around 1:30 a.m. he and his wife 23-year old Natalie Eppler were arguing, Sergeant Eppler pulled a gun and shot her in the head.

She was taken to Phoebe Putney Hospital where she later died. Eppler is charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a crime.

The case is still under investigation.
