Braves GN Wren receives extension through 2013

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - The Atlanta Braves have signed general manager Frank Wren to a two-year contract extension through the 2013 season.

Team president John Schuerholz made the announcement Monday.

The 52-year-old Wren is entering his fourth season as general manager of the Braves, moving into the post after Schuerholz became president. Wren served as Schuerholz's top assistant for eight seasons.

New manager Fredi Gonzalez also is signed through the 2013 season. His contract includes a club option for 2014.
