COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Undercover officers and SWAT team members raided a Columbus home Friday afternoon looking for drugs.

Officials won't say exactly what led them to the Bibb City address but officers did have a search warrant for narcotics and when WTVM pulled up to the scene, they were searching the house and cars parked outside of it.

Members of the Columbus Police Department's Special Operations Unit, otherwise known as the Vice Squad, and the SWAT Team targeted the home located on Wilton Street around 2:30 Friday.

We're told officers did find methamphetamine inside but officials say it was not a meth lab.

The man who lives there, 47-year-old Jason Carney, was taken into custody and officials say they believe he was dealing meth. He's charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Officers say they found a pistol inside Carney's house and more than $1000 worth of meth.

This raid comes on the heels of a five month long investigation by the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office in the Bibb City and North Highland sections of the city.

Sheriff's officials issued 75 arrest warrants in a effort to crack down on the drugs, prostitution and gang activity plaguing that area of Columbus.
