ATLANTA (AP) - Gov. Nathan Deal has selected 53 school leaders to serve on his Education Advisory Board.
The new Republican governor named 13 superintendents, 13 principals, 13 school board members and 14 educators from around the state to the panel on Friday.
Deal said he looks forward to meeting with them four times a year "to discuss how we can continue to improve educational outcomes for Georgia students."
He called the panel members each leaders in their fields.
Deal first announced creation of an education advisory panel at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce's annual Eggs and Issues legislative breakfast last month.
