Synovus Announces Changes to Board of Directors

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Synovus has nominated two, new members to its Board of Directors.  Joseph J. Prochaska and Catherine A. Allen will stand for election at the company's 2011 Annual Meeting of Shareholders in April.

Prochaska is a former MetLife Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.  He worked in that position from 2003 to 2009.  Allen is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of consulting firm The Santa Fe Group.  The company specializes in management for strategic, industry and institutional projects to financial institutions.

Synovus also announced that four incumbent directors; Daniel P. Amos, Gardiner W. Garrard, Jr., Elizabeth C. Ogie and William B. Turner, Jr. will not stand for re-election.
