COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A nearly hundred year old law may soon be changed in Columbus.
A Christian missionary and social workers are trying to convince Columbus city leaders to change a 1914 ordinance used to arrest 17 homeless people in September.
Nathan Heald recently told the Columbus city council that the law essentially makes it illegal to be homeless.
Heald presented the city council with a petition signed by more than one-thousand people opposed to the ordinance.
