Reward offered in AL woman's disappearance

MONTGOMERY, AL (AP) - A $5,000 reward is being offered in the disappearance of LaQuanta Riley, who was 19 when she was last seen in Montgomery in 2003.

Montgomery County District Attorney Ellen Brooks announced the reward on Wednesday.

Riley was last seen Dec. 7, 2003, at her mother's home. She arrived in a car unrecognized by her family, telling them it was driven by a friend and asked for a jacket.

Brooks said there has been no indication whether Riley is still alive, but said there is evidence that Riley was kidnapped.

Riley's mother received a message on her answering machine from her daughter about a week after Riley's disappearance, crying and asking for help.
