COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Columbus teenager is recovering after her car crashed and burned early Wednesday morning.

According to police, 18-year-old Bethany Tucker was driving on Manchester Expressway near Psalmond Road around 4 AM when she drifted off the road and onto the median.

She over-corrected, swerving to the right and left before going back onto the median. Her Jeep Cherokee flipped over at least twice and landed on the driver's side.

When officers got to the crash, Tucker and a passenger, 23-year-old Travis York were outside of the car which had burst into flames. Tucker's feet had such severe injuries that she could not stand or walk and officers pulled her away from the burning jeep.

She and York, who was also injured, were taken the Medical Center.

Bethany Tucker was cited for Failure to Maintain Lane and No State Driver's License.

Her injuries are still being evaluated in the emergency room, according to staffers.
