Two men arrested on counterfeiting charges in Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn police and U.S. Secret Service agents have arrested two men accused of using counterfeit money.

Twenty-one-year-old Terrell K. Corbit of Dothan and 21-year-old Darrian J. Douglas of Columbus, Ga. have been charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument.

Auburn police received a complaint Wednesday of a man trying to use counterfeit money. Investigators looking into the complaint developed Douglas and Corbit as suspects.

The two were arrested and taken to the Lee County Detention Facility Thursday. Auburn Police Division Lt. Lorenza Dorsey says they were released Friday after posting bond of $7,000 apiece.

Corbit, a student at Tuskegee University, and Douglas could not immediately be reached Saturday for comment.
