Ala. gov.: Applications sought for Auburn trustees

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Gov. Robert Bentley says applications are being sought for nine Auburn University trustee positions that are coming open this year.

Bentley is president of the Auburn board of trustees and serves on the five-member committee that nominates trustees.

Bentley says applications or nominations should be sent by Friday to the Auburn University Trustee Selection Committee, Attention: Grant Davis, 105 Samford Hall, Auburn University, AL 36849.

Two trustee positions are currently vacant. The terms of board members Dwight Carlisle and Sarah Newton expired in February.

The terms of Bobby Lowder, Jimmy Rane, Virginia Thompson, Byron Franklin and Charles McCrary will expire later this year.
