2 to face murder charges in death of AL teacher

JACKSONVILLE, AL (AP) - Authorities say two men will be charged in the killing of a 29-year-old Anniston elementary school teacher.

Police say 27-year-old Tyrone Thompson and 22-year-old Nicholas Smith face robbery and kidnapping charges in the death of Kevin Thompson. Authorities say the two will be charged with capital murder Monday.

The two also are charged with using Kevin Thompson's ATM card at banks in Jacksonville and Anniston on Wednesday, the night authorities say Thompson went missing from his Jacksonville apartment complex. His body was found early Saturday along U.S. 278 in Cherokee County.

Tyrone Thompson is in custody in the Anniston jail. Smith is being held in the Clayton County, Ga., jail.

Authorities say they will be moved to the Calhoun County jail. Listed phone numbers could not be found for either suspect.
