COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- Royal Watch Parties were held across the nation during the spectacular Royal Wedding that more than 2 billion people are believed to have watched.

News Leader 9 Sales Managers held their own Royal Watch Party at the station as the managers prepared breakfast for employees in celebration of Team Appreciation Week.  Adelaide Kirk, General Sales Manager and Maureen Akers, Local Sales Manager dressed the tables using a royal theme.  "We have tea, engagement rings that we're using as table decorations, it's just beautiful," said Akers.

TV Networks began broadcasting from London at 4 AM eastern standard time.  Kirk tuned in to the ceremony shortly after it started.  She commented on the break in tradition with the extended long trains worn by brides in previous royal weddings.   "I think she's just trying to be her own person, just trying to be different," said Kirk.

Lee Brantley, General Manager said he's glad it's not his daughter.  "Her life will never be the same; it's not her life anymore."

They were formally declared married by the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, the spiritual leader of the Church of England.
