COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Two men are facing conspiracy charges after police say they were caught getting ready to rob a Columbus convenience store.

On Sunday morning around 6 AM, a patrol officer noticed a car parked with its lights off near a small used car sales lot on Manchester Expressway and St. Francis Avenue.

The officer caught up with the car on Armour Road and inside, found two men with masks and pistols that turned out to be BB guns.

According to investigators, Marquise Burton, 23, and Octavious Washington, 18, admitted that they had planned and staged an armed robbery at the Circle K on Manchester Expressway and Rosemont Drive and were getting ready to hold up the business.

They were charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.

Detectives say the clerk at Circle K told them he saw the duo cruise slowly through the parking lot before they were pulled over.
