BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Hospitals in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa report that at least 40 people injured in the storms that struck Alabama two weeks ago remain hospitalized.
The Birmingham News reports that in Birmingham, the number includes 18 people at UAB Hospital, 10 at Children's Hospital and six at Baptist Princeton Medical Center.
A spokesman for DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa says eight people remain hospitalized there.
Hospitals in other hard-hit counties say all patients admitted after the storms have been released. They include Cullman Regional Medical Center, DeKalb Regional Medical Center, Marion Regional Medical Center and Northport Medical Center.
Some of those patients are reported to be rehabilitating at other hospitals, and three people admitted to Alabama hospitals with storm-related injuries are reported to have died.
