COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  A Muscogee County Prison inmate is back behind bars after getting caught trying to burglarize a home during a work detail.

Warden Bill Adamson tells WTVM 26-year-old Rosard Cartagena was on a rainwater detail Thursday afternoon on Bradshaw Drive off Forrest Road clearing out a runoff ditch.

The warden says Cartagena somehow got out of the sight of his supervisory officer and made his way to the back of a nearby home where he starting taking the screens off of the windows.

A neighbor spotted him in his prison jumpsuit trying to break in the house and called police. By the time officers got there, Cartagena had already made his way back to the work detail but when the witness identified him, he was arrested and charged with Criminal Attempt Burglary.

Adamson says he can't remember what Cartagena is in prison for but after his latest arrest, he will not be leaving the Muscogee County Prison. His case has been bound over to Muscogee County Superior Court.
