COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) –   Plans to build a new middle school has been put on hold until June.

The Muscogee County school board decided to postpone action on allowing Freeman-Balfour Beatty construction to build it.

The new school will be located off Garrett Road in the Midland area.

It's estimated to cost $15 million which will be paid for with 2009 SPLOST funds.

A plan to build a new elementary school near the old Baker High School is also in the works.
