Accident following AU football game, leads to vehicular homicide

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - The Auburn Police Department says it has arrested a man they say fatally struck a teen leaving an Auburn Football game in September of 2010.

Police charged Michael H. Stanfield, 42, of Florence, AL with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident without rendering aid, and improper turn after a grand jury ordered the indictments.

The accident occurred on September 18, 2010 on Shug Jordan Parkway. The coroner says 17-year-old Virginia Jacks of Montgomery, AL died on the scene.

Stanfield is currently behind bars at the Lee County Detention Center where he is being held on a 35,000 bond.
