VALLEY, AL (WTVM) – Valley police are investigating two incidents that have them urging parents to talk to their kids about strangers.
The first incident involves a sex offender trying to lure two kids into a wooded area.
Police say 54-year old Bobby Hall, a registered sex offender, tried to lure two small children into the woods. The children ran away and told their grandparents, who chased Hall, but couldn't catch him.* However, the grandparents were able to identify him in a police lineup.
During the same week a 10-year old girl was playing in the yard; she noticed a car stopped next door at an intersection. Then the passenger got out of the car and started running towards her. She screamed for her mom and ran into the house.
The girl and her mother describe the suspect's car was a dark colored mustang. Police are looking for the suspect, describing him as a tall black male, with dread locks.
Authorities want all parents in East Alabama especially in the City of Valley to be on alert.
Local police department and sheriff's office is a great place to find out more information on how to talk to your kids about the dangers of strangers. Many law enforcement agencies even have summer programs or camps that focus on how kids can protect themselves.
