AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn's Big Cat weekend garnered the attention of a big name recruit and yielded another commit to the class of 2012.
Barry Sanders Jr. was on the plains this weekend and said he would like to return for an official visit to Jordan Hare Stadium during the season. The running back is the son of the famous Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders. The elder Sanders and Auburn running back coach Curtis Lupus played together in college at Oklahoma State.
Tigers also received praise from a 4-star recruit in terms of a verbal commitment: offensive tackle Shane Callahan from Parker, Colorado. He's ranked 191st on Rivals' list of the top recruits for the Class of 2012, and Scout ranks him as the No. 23 tackle in the class. Callahan said he plans to finish high school in December and enroll at Auburn next January.
