Columbus High wins GHSA AAA title

COLUMBUS (WTVM) - Columbus High won their 11th GHSA State Title beating Spalding 19-9 in six innings.

It's the fourth back to back state title for the Blue Devils, but their first in a game three match up and their first at Randy Jordan Field.

With seven lead changes throughout the game, hitting was key. In the bottom of the fourth, Senior Cody Walker doubled up the left field line scoring Jordan Weems to tie the game at nine.
Junior Pierce Ressmeyer broke it open two batters later with a 3-run homer to take the lead for the final time.

Columbus scored 10 runs in the fourth to lead 18-9. In the bottom of the sixth it was Ressmeyer coming through again, this time with an RBI single into left field to run-rule the game and give Columbus the win.
