Person of interest in woman's murder violates probation

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A person of interest in connection with the disappearance and death of Yamisha Thomas appeared in a Columbus courtroom Friday morning.

Sylvester Davis was in court for a probation revocation hearing.

A probation officer testified Davis signed a lease with Thomas in Alabama - even though his probation terms prohibited him from leaving the state of Georgia.

Davis has been sentenced to one year in prison.

So far, police have not charged anyone with Yamisha Thomas's murder.
