Braves' Schafer not on DL

ATLANTA (WTVM) - After being hit in the face by a foul ball Friday night, Braves center fielder Jordan Schafer was not placed on the disabled list.

Schafer was diagnosed with a non-displaced sinus fracture after fouling a bunt attempt off his face in the fifth inning of the Braves 6-3 win over the Mets. Schafer left the game, but walked off on his own accord, holding ice to his face.

Schafer has been playing center for the injured Nate McLouth, who is on the disabled list with a strained oblique. In his time with the Braves, Schafer is 8-for-34.

The Braves have not released a time-table for his return, although he did not play in Saturday's game at Citi Field.
