CSU to Host Peach Belt Basketball Tournaments in 2012

COLUMBUS, Ga. - After a very successful year during the 2010-2011 academic year that saw Columbus State win their fourth Peach Belt Conference Commissioner's Cup title in the past six years, CSU was awarded the opportunity to host the 2012 Peach Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments.

All 14 games will be played at the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center beginning with the women's first round contests on Thursday, March 1. The men's tournament will begin a day later on March 2. The men's and women's semifinals will be played on Saturday, March 3 while the finals will take place on Sunday.

The bracket will have a crossover format in which the top seed in the west division will play the lowest seed in the east division and the second seed in the west will take on the third seeded team in the east.

CSU previously hosted the men's and women's PBC Tournament in 2002 and 2003.

Clayton State won the women's PBC Tournament this past year en route to winning their first ever National Championship while Augusta State won the men's tournament.
