ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - Jury selection is underway in Albany in the trial for three people charged in a deadly salmonella outbreak traced to the Peanut Company of America five years ago. Owners Michael Parnell and Stewart Parnell along with quality control manager Mary Wilkerson were indicted last year on 76 criminal counts.

Officials say people who catch fish they don't want occasionally throw them to alligators, which can lead to the animals expecting fishermen and other humans to feed them if they're nearby.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Kellogg plans to close a plant in Columbus by the end of next year as part of a restructuring process. A spokesman says the move is expected to eliminate 325 jobs.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (AP) - The arrest of a single mother who let her 9-year-old play alone in a South Carolina park during her shift at McDonald's has stirred up debate over child care. Debra Harrell faces 10 years in prison if convicted of child neglect. Neighbors in North Augusta say she shouldn't be vilified.
