COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  Two thieves stole thousands of dollars of property, tried to pawn it off and were arrested, all within a few hours.

News Leader Nine has the shocking surveillance video that put two men behind bars.

At 9:20 last night surveillance cameras at Randy Prather Construction caught two men on tape who were stealing from local businesses.

The video shows two men pulling up to the back of the buildings in a pick-up truck and using bolt cutters to get through the fence and load up stolen items. In just ten minutes more than $1,500 worth of property was stolen from Randy Prather Construction and K & N Collision.

Police used the surveillance video to capture a still picture of the suspects and while they were looking at local scrap metal shops the two men pulled up, trying to sell the stolen items.

Cortez Mitchell and Antonio Giddens were arrested Thursday morning and charged with felony theft, trespassing and giving false information. They are being held in the Muscogee County Jail and will appear in Recorder's Court Friday.
