Wild weather knocks out power in Russell County

RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WXTX) –   A storm blew through east Alabama around 4:45 PM Saturday knocking downs trees and damaging the primary line into substation in Russell County.

Alabama Power says 4,200 people are in the dark in Lee and Russell Counties.

Officials tell News Leader 9 all but 600 have been restored in Russell County at this time but no word on the restoration status for Auburn.

Residents should have power by midnight.
