Eyewitness sees gunman shoot another man

COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX)- An eyewitness tells News Leader 9, he saw a gunman run from behind a nearby house and open fire.   

The bullet hit the man in the face.  The witness said he reacted fast and drove the victim to the hospital.

It happened at the corner of Coolidge Avenue and Forsyth Street near Buena Vista Road just before 1:00 Tuesday morning.

Hospital officials say he is being treated in the ER's trauma center. No word on his condition. Police said the victim's injuries did not appear life threatening.

Police say no arrests have been made.
