Auburn Assistants Receive Raises

AUBURN (WTVM) - Auburn coach Gene Chizik's salary raise makes him the eighth highest paid football coach in the country. Now the raises for Chizik's assistants make them the highest paid in college football, as they'll make a combined $4.085 million for the 2011 season.

Each assistant coach got a raise of at least ten percent for next season.  Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzahn's raise of 160 percent pushes his salary to $1.3 million. Malzahn is now the highest paid assistant in the country, passing Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart who makes $850,000 per season.
