COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Surveillance video released to News Leader Nine shows jail inmates in Harris County attacking a Sheriff's deputy.

In November of 2010, when 2 inmates were trying to escape, they told the deputy there was an ant problem in their holding cell.  When he came to check on it, one of the men hit the deputy while the other jumped on top of him.

The deputy was able to grab his pepper spray and spray both of them in the eyes.

Both inmates, Jamaal Castille and Christopher Fleming, pleaded guilty in court today.  The judge sentenced them to 3 years in prison that they must serve on top of their previous prison sentences.

Sheriff Mike Jolley says they will most likely go to a higher security prison because this is their second attempt to escape.
