COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) -  PAWS Humane Society needs your help finding out who killed an animal over the weekend.

A resident found a decapitated cat in a parking lot in downtown Columbus Friday night and called Animal Control. Officials say they also discovered beer bottles near the cat's body, and a clean cut to its neck.

Paws Humane's Executive Director Bob Robbins says the next step is finding who committed this disgusting crime, "It's so hard to investigate something like this because you don't know any details at all. But they obviously found the body. They have the body at Animal Control but we're hoping through this, someone might come forward and give us information."

The cat is described as a young female, dark gray tabby.

PAWS is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information on this killing. You can leave your tip at (706)565-0035.
